Nike, Inc. announced this week that the company would bring on the world's only openly gay CIO at a Fortune 100 company, Anthony Watson, in a move that very clearly signals that Nike intends to significantly up its technology game. Watson also serves on GLAAD's National Board of Directors.
Pascal Tessier, 17, became the first-known openly gay Boy Scout to succesfully earn the prestigious rank of 'Eagle' on Monday night, following the Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) new policy that allows gay youth to participate. That policy went into effect on January 1, 2014.
GLAAD today unveiled a resource guide for journalists covering the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, which equips reporters with critical information about the country's draconian anti-LGBT laws.
Yesterday, DNAInfo and Sherights.com first reported that cafe chain Au Bon Pain was using a web filtering software that blocked access to LGBT advocacy sites (including GLAAD's), as well as some pro-choice and progressive websites.
