ICICI bank account opening

To open an account with ICICI Bank, refer to the steps given below.

  1. Decide which type of account you want to open—savings account, current account, or any other specialised account offered by ICICI Bank.
  2. Visit any nearby ICICI bank along with your personal identity documents. You need documents like proof of identity such as passport, PAN card, Aadhar card, etc. proof of address. it can be your utility bills, rental agreement, etc. and passport-sized photographs. The specific requirements may vary based on the type of account and ICICI Bank’s policies.
  3. Ask the staff for an account opening form. 
  4. Fill the form with the required details such as your name, address, and other personal details. You have to fill in the name of one of your family members or someone who is near to you as the nominee. 
  5. Submit it with the photocopy of the documents required.
  6. Submit the necessary documents along with the filled application form.
  7. After submission, your documents will undergo verification. If your application is verified, you may be required to deposit the initial amount specified by the bank to activate the account.
  8. Once everything is processed and approved, you will receive your account kit containing the account details, chequebook, debit card, and other related information.

According to the latest timing set by ICICI bank, the bank opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 3 PM on all weekdays that is from Monday to Friday. Customers can visit the bank anytime during this working hour to carry out any banking activities. 

ICICI bank timings on weekend

The bank remains closed on the 2nd and fourth Saturday. However, it remains open from 9:30 AM to 3 PM on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday. Sundays are normally closed. Keeping these timings and holidays, customers can plan their visit accordingly.

Electronic fund transfer timings

NEFT Timings

At ICICI Bank branches, NEFT services operate six times a day on weekdays (at 9.30 am, 10.30 am, 12.00 noon, 1.00 pm, 3.00 pm, and 4.00 pm). The bank remains closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and Sundays.

Furthermore, starting from December 16, 2019, customers can make online transfers using National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) 24×7, allowing transactions any time and any day.

RTGS Timings

Following RBI guidelines, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) has been available 24×7 since December 14, 2020.

ICICI bank lunch timing

ICICI Bank lunch hours are from 1 PM to 2 PM but it may vary for some or all the branches. However, the staff takes turns to go for lunch. Customers can visit the bank anytime from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM for any banking activity. 

Some other banks like SBI have different working hours.

SBI lunch timing

SBI lunch time is from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. The staff goes for lunch during this hour. In some branches, the banking services continue even at lunch hour as the staff takes turns to go for lunch. The lunch timing may vary from branch to branch depending on the location.

SBI bank timings during the lockdown

Like all the other businesses and institutes, the banking sector was also severely affected by the covid 19 lockdown. However, it could not stop the bank from functioning. State Bank of India adjusted its operational hours. Most branches operated from 10 AM to 2 PM on weekdays (Monday to Friday). During this period, SBI branches generally remained closed on Saturdays. However, these timings might have slightly differed for certain branches.
