For the first time in the same year, GLAAD rates three networks – ABC Family, HBO, and MTV - as "Excellent" in eighth annual Network Responsibility Index | October 1, 2014

Los Angeles, CA - GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, today released its two annual television reports – the 8th annual Network Responsibility Index (NRI) and the 19th annual Where We Are on TV report.  The reports map the quantity, quality, and diversity of LGBT representation on television.

GLAAD and Human Rights Campaign Foundation unveil groundbreaking resource to challenge ‘God vs. Gay’ in mainstream media | September 29, 2014

NEW YORK - GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the nation’s largest advocacy group for LGBT rights, today unveiled “In Focus: Faith, LGBT People, & the Midterm Elections,” a groundbreaking resource guide that empowers journalists to challenge anti-LGBT talking heads who mask bias as a ‘tenet of faith.’ The resource guide is viewable at www.glaad.org/vote.

Google, YouTube receive inaugural Ric Weiland Award at GLAAD Gala San Francisco: Game Changers | September 14, 2014


GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, honored technology leader Google and video-sharing innovator YouTube with the inaugural Ric Weiland Award last night at the GLAAD Gala San Francisco: Game Changers at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square. The Ric Weiland Award honors innovators who advance LGBT equality through tech and new media. YouTube stars Tyler Oakley and Hannah Hart presented the award to Arjan Dijk, Vice President Marketing at Google, who accepted the award on behalf of Google and YouTube.

Third Eye Blind frontman to perform hit song 'Jumper' at GLAAD Gala San Francisco: Game Changers | September 9, 2014

SAN FRANCISCO – GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, today announced that award-winning alternative rock band Third Eye Blind's lead singer Stephan Jenkins will perform acoustically at GLAAD Gala San Francisco: Game Changers at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square on September 13, 2014. Recording artists Eli Lieb and Neon Hitch will also perform, it was announced.
