This morning, GLAAD announced the nominees for the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards and many of this year's nominees included out characters of color telling important stories and reflecting the true diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

The New Black follows six African-American faith leaders to explore how Black, faith, and LGBT communities intersected in Maryland's campaign for marriage equality, where the role of the Black church as the community's institutional pillar took on a whole new dynamic. The film is partnering with Tugg to bring The New Black to local theaters and churches for screenings, starting on National Coming Out Day October 11.
